These words come straight from the FaithWorks! mission statement. When I think of someone learning about Jesus’ love for them, words like “loved” and “valued” easily come to mind. An important factor in helping a child invite Jesus to be their Best Friend forever is knowing how much He loves them! And at FaithWorks! we teach that through the message of the cross. But we also stress that they are unique creations of a God who cherishes every little hair on their head. We want them to know that they are valued by God! This will help them understand why He’s got a future for them.
Love and value are demonstrated on Sundays by our FaithWorks! team. Small group leaders, check-in helpers, our drama teams and story tellers show up every Sunday saying: “You are important to me”, “I care about you”, “You are one important kid!”, “I want to introduce you to my friend, Jesus” – just by being there.
These messages are best heard when a child feels safe. So when you read our mission statement below, you’ll see that the word “safe” comes first. This Sunday begins a year-long goal of having the best trained team around. The FaithWorks! team does everything it can to make sure our kids are safe and well taken care of at church as well as at home. We would never want to hear of a story similar to what happened at Penn State happening with us. So we are beginning with a Child Abuse & Neglect Training with our team leaders. Not only will our leaders know what to look for but also know what to do if an issue should come up. Then over the course of the next few months, all of our ministry partners will be trained in this as well as other important stuff.
Please know that when you drop your child off at FaithWorks!, on a Sunday morning or at anytime, we have your child’s best interest at heart. And we want their heart to be full of God’s love for them and a knowledge of how important they are to His Kingdom!
See you Sunday!
FaithWorks! Mission Statement
We are dedicated to helping children develop a faith that works. We want the children who enter Clay Church to feel safe, loved, and valued. We want to provide them with an experience where they come to know Jesus as a friend, where they understand what it means to worship Him, and where they accept the fact that faith works. We are committed to walking along with parents and guardians as they begin to nurture their child’s journey to know Jesus Christ as God’s Son, and their own Savior.
