The elementary FaithWorks! kids made treats for our next door neighbors at Swanson Elementary School. Every teacher received a decorated box that held chocolates and encouraging notes on Valentine’s Day. Oh, and a card, decorated with glitter…can’t forget the glitter! They spent four weeks cutting, gluing, writing, decorating, and more gluing and sprinkling, to complete this project. I’m sure more than kid one went home with glitter on their cheek.
It was a simple project to help them see that someone’s life can be changed through the efforts of others. The idea was for them to learn that by working together, they could do something bigger than just by doing it on their own. They were reminded that something as simple as a Hershey’s Kiss could brighten someone’s entire day.
This blessing compounds exponentially when it’s done because your heart is so full of God’s love that you can’t help but spill it out onto others! That’s living inside out! “Muffins are sweet and so are you!” That spilled out of someone’s heart and was written on one of the cards! How could that not make you smile and make your day great?!
