That’s what we want to do this summer at Camp Lakewood.
Yep. Summer camp is on my mind today. And not just because it’s frigid outside and we’re already wondering if school will be delayed tomorrow because of negative temperatures and I’m wishing for sunshine and bare feet in the grass.
Summer camp is on my mind because it’s a special place. It’s a place where kids unwind, relax, explore, try new things, challenge themselves. It’s a place where new friendships are made, old friendships are cemented. It’s a place where God is at the center of everything.
It’s one of my favorite places to be.
This summer we’re going to “get real” before God and with God. And He’s going to “get real” with us. Don’t get lost in the whimsical, Dr. Seuss-ish theme…it’s probably the most meaty summer I’ve been a part of planning.
Watching children worship God, enter into prayer seriously, learn something new about our God, invite Jesus into their everyday lives. It’s something I don’t want to miss. And I hope it’s something you don’t want your child to miss! It really is worth investing in.
